    My favorite quotes:

Lat-R-RUN-1: "I don't suppose your MUTANT POWER involves OPENING BROKEN DOORS, Citizen?"
Sven-R-EAT-1: Unfortunately no, I am only capable of detecting thinly veiled sarcasm.

Sven-R-EAT-1: Did he say "Don't eat me?"
Lat-R-RUN-1: "We will not eat you. I assure you, I am not hungry, for I just had a Vita-Yum bar."
Lat-R-RUN-1: "Also, you do not look particularly delicious."

    Bugg-R-OFF-1  Mission log, first entry:

After receiving my mission assignment from friend Computer, I hurried most enthusiastically to follow the instructions.  It was at the trans-tube that I first encountered the Troubleshooters that turned out to receive the same mission briefing as myself. A shady lot, it appeared, who seemed rather preoccupied in thought (are they hiding something?). When the transtube wagon arrived, the other passengers seemed suspicious of the public transportation vehicle because it had pushed another vehicle away, but I, being of strong faith in the ability and effectiveness of friend Computer, entered without hesitation.

On our way to our destination I took a closer look at the other passengers. They all had Red clearance, judging by their clothing. One of them has mutant powers, but has not demonstrated his ability yet. Another seemed intent on spending the journey asleep. He denied having difficulties sleepint at night, which can only leave me to conclude that this Troubleshooter has is either lazy or disinterested in performing his duty in service to the Computer.

Upon our arrival at our destination, the door seemed jammed by causes unknown. Possibly sabotaged? My suspicions towards the lazy Troubleshooter were further reaffirmed as he and the mutant stood idly by while Sue-R-RAT-1 (who I recognize as a colleague from R&D) and myself opened the door because we did not want to be late or waste time.

It was here that we were to be briefed on our mission, apparantly. The person briefing us was of orange clearance level, and told us that we are to look into the matter of a couple of Scrub bots that had been malfunctioning and attacking citizens. I noticed then that the fellow Troubleshooters with me were behaving rather disrespectful to our mission briefer, despite being of lower clearance level than he was. When he pulled out a device, all of the others immediately turned and cowardly bolted through the doors out of the room. Apparantly they were distrustful or had some kind of strange plan (it IS rather suspicious they all acted in unison). I found it strange they would be so disloyal to someone of orange clearance level.

I turned and tried to call them back, but not an instant later an explosion blew up the mission briefer, and knocked me to the ground. Fortunately my red reflec armor absorbed most of the blow, leaving me able to perform my duties. The mission briefer was, unfortunately, not as lucky. Still I wonder what went on there, and the reason why all the others ran out of the room moments before the explosion took place. I will be watching them diligently. We contacted the emergency services to alert them of the happenings, after which we departed for our PLC outfitting. It wasn't long before we were escorted to the PLC area where we were outfitted with laser barrels. I also noticed the other troubleshooters being particulary interested in knives, which was suspicious to say the least, as they are of no use against scrubbots. One of them actually started yelling loudly and ran away. It did not seem like proper behaviour for a troubleshooter on a mission.

It was at this point that I tried to buy a multicorder in order to record the happenings, as I was starting to wonder if perhaps more was going on here. Unfortunately the PLC outfitter was unwilling to supply me with a proper multicorder and tried to sell me an inferior product which was prone to tampering, even after I told him we were on a most important mission for friend Computer.

It is at this point that I write my journal. We are now headed towards the scrub bot maintainance area. I suggested we go there in order to see if they know anything about the whereabouts of the malfunctioning scrubbots.

Re: Session Notes - Paranoia - "Mr. Bubbles" - May 9

I'm having a bad feeling about this...

Really, I do.  So, here I am, on my first mission for the Computer, and we're not even at the briefing room before things start going wrong.  As we entered the transport, another bot came in from behind and crashed into the first one.  And from there, it went downhill.

The orders were unclear.  Whether it was my end or the sender's end, I am not sure, but for some reason, I was unable to read the room number of the briefing room.

When we arrived at the destination, we entered a room that might have been a briefing room.  But whether it was the right briefing room, I have no idea.  And whether or not the guy we found there was the one meant to brief us...well, he was babbling about some rogue scrub bots or something, but he didn't exactly sound as if he knew much about what he was raving about, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if we get rid of those things, only to find that they had nothing at all to do with our mission.

But then, I don't think anyone else even bothered to check if we were actually on the same mission.  They just seemed to assume that since we were on the same transport, we were on the msission.  And after that guy blew himself up...well, technically, you could say that the others _caused_ that death, I suppose.  Now, if I can only figure out how to go about to report this...

And the merchants, well, they certainly were cheating us.  And if I thought I'd be able to find my way back there, I'd do something about it.  If this rather unofortunate start is any indication, this mission is gonna be a disaster.
