The Castle: Strange Days, Stranger Nights – Session Notes – 21 November 2020

August 21st, 2025 – New York City

The party heads towards the spot where they felt the new arrival – debating the relative morality of having to “kill” a bunch of people already dead in order to return to the world of the living.

They arrive in Central Park to find John’s driver, Ian. He appears to be severely injured and is wearing a hospital gown, his hands have been staked with railroad spikes into a large rock. Ian tells the party how he was in the hospital after the explosion, and then a man matching Martin’s description came to him, and he just woke in the park. He didn’t have much else in the way of information, except that he was sure everyone in the party had died in the explosion. When Hugo attempts to free Ian from the rock, the shock is too much for him and he vanishes, infusing Hugo with a rush of energy.

A majority of the party decides it’s time to lock’n’load and go hunting for hunters, so they disperse over a few blocks and scavenge miscellany such as billy-clubs, flack vests, and sport crossbows. They walk to the lower Manhattan area and approach an apartment building where Emma senses a small group of hunters are hiding out.

Daphne approaches the front door and knocks while the party hides (with varying degrees of success). Three hunters come out and a brief conversation ensues before the rest of the party strikes. The three are slain in fairly short order, granting another rush to several of the party.

After the battle but before the party can get their bearings, they are confronted by Martin out in the street. The Summer Knight is clearly insane, but he does mention how the Summer Queen is threatened by Daphne’s perceived rise. He goes on to note how his plan to make the party suffer is failing as they’re gaining power, and decides to intervene.

A fight ensues.
